This is a great technique for all to have or develop. Highlight the main points and make it your own.

This is brilliant. I have used it with all of my pupils. This skill is vital for KS3 and KS4.

This is one of my top activities that I repeat over and over again when I want to develop note taking skills - and more importantly how to use your research as the basis for a piece of original writing on a given topic.
I move to two and more pieces of related text where they have to weave their response together from a variety of material.
I consider that this skill is one of the most vital for success in all subjects. Plagiarism is so tempting for some students because they don't know how to make the text"their own".
This is a regular weekly activity for all my groups - at whatever level.
