Rat o' burger!
'There's a rat in my burger!' Students read and annotate this letter of complaint to identify the persuasive techniques and consider the effect of these from this particularly emotive customer.
Student then plan and write a persuasive placatory response from the restaurant in an appropriate formal style.

Task 1
Label as many of the following persuasive techniques as possible, like the one that’s been done for you already:
- list of three
- use of personal pronoun ‘I’
- imagery
- guilt
- statistics
- repetition for effect
- rhetorical question
- emotive language
- politeness
