Getting feedback right
Last updated: 15/11/2023
Written by David Didau, this resource includes advice on how to mark work to have a positive effect on students, by providing clarity, and by giving feedback to raise students' level of effort and aspiration.
The PowerPoint presentation includes flowcharts that help you judge how best to mark the work of your students, based on giving feedback for:
- clarification, so that students are more sure about what they need to do
- to increase effort once students understand how they can improve
- to increase aspiration so that students want to do more than just enough.
This resource accompanies David's article, 'Getting feedback right'.
