I adapted this for a student (who becomes anxious at the idea of suggesting an actor, and would have spent ages just trying to think of someone) to write in role as the director of a production she had already seen. She could choose which one (so retaining the element of choice, but without the pressure!) and had to imagine what that director might have written, when the production was at the planning stage.
