What is My Teachit ?

Sometimes the scope and scale of the Teachit libraries can make finding that perfect lesson resource a little time-consuming, which is why we've created My Teachit to help you personalise the whole process. My Teachit is your Teachit filing system where you can select, store and organise your own lesson choices. Once logged in a single mouse-click on the icon places any of our files in your folder. There's even a notes field so you can annotate or label your selections. What all this means is that as you browse the libraries you can use My Teachit to:

  • list your favourite resources
  • collect a set of materials for a particular year group or week
  • or (if you're very organised!) select and store your next half term's or term's complete scheme(s) of work
  • file the resources you're planning to edit
  • store resources you'd like to use on an IWB
  • create a 'wish list' of materials you'd like to use at a later date
  • remember a particular type of resource, like lesson starters
  • use the notes to help you use any of the above collections
  • use the notes to evaluate and improve a lesson for next time

Adding Teachit resources to My Teachit

To add a resource simply login as usual, browse the libraries in the normal way and click the new add to My Teachit icon when you find a resource you'd like to store: Add this resource to My Teachit folder.

 

Viewing the files stored in My Teachit

To view the items in My Teachit, simply click on the My Teachit link in the members menu (you'll need to be logged in). To remove resources just click the Remove this resource from My folder icon next to each resource.

 

NEW - Adding your own resources, files or weblinks to My Teachit

You can now make your own folders - just click on the icon to create one and then the icon to give it your personal name. To add a new folder within an existing one click on the icon alongside the relevant folder.

You now also get 10MB of space on our servers to upload and store your own files, adapted Teachit resources, weblinks or even content from elsewhere. Simply browse to the folder you'd like to populate and click on the icon. A search box will open to help you find your resources on your computer.

 

Deleting resources

To delete an entire folder click on the icon. Be careful - they are then gone for ever!

 

Adding notes and comments to the resources in My Teachit

Not only does My Teachit give you the chance to organise Teachit resources ready for your next ICT based lesson, but you can also add notes or comments to each one. . Next to each resource in My Teachit folder you'll see this icon: Add or amend notes Click on this and your notes field will open.
