A comprehensive learning mat which supports students when analysing and writing about a fiction text. It is suitable for close analysis of extracts from class novels or for exploring unseen fiction texts.

The resource comprises word banks of useful analytical vocabulary which helps students avoid the dreaded comment on the effect that 'it makes the reader want to read on …'!

It also includes a series of sentence stems to challenge your students to write in more interesting ways than PEE paragraphs, based on the acronym EARS for paragraph structure:

  • evidence
  • analysis
  • reader response
  • speculation.
