Dracula - gry | 09/09/2003 |
| I've just had a good look through the new syllabus for AQA A English & Lit, and I am considering doing a series of film reviews (internet-based, tabloid & TV guide) on Bram Stoker's Dracula.
The intention is then to study the written text for the Prose Study as a cross-over piece with Lit.
Question: has anyone got a really good writing frame for an in-depth film analysis?
In fact, any resources on Dracula would be greatly appreciated.

| Yes, I have stuff on Dracula film analysis. You can also buy a passnote book on it (I think a Longman one). If you let me have your email address I can arrange to send you what I have. |

Re:Dracula - Rhiannon Glover, KS5 and Media Editor | 11/09/2003 |
| I'm working on Dracula myself for both AS Media and GCSE English (media coursework). There's a chart for comparing two film versions of Dracula including the Coppola version and some related resources in the Genre section of the Media library on this site. I also recommend the York Film Notes on Dracula. Let me know if you need any further advice.

| Beware!!! I did Dracula last year and then ended up having to do an extra assignment. You can't use it as a crossover piece as Bram Stoker is not on the list of prescribed authors. I still did it with low ability yr10 but then had to do an additional assignment on Of Mice and Men, in other words, submit 6 assignments. Just thought I'd better let you know! Sorry.... |

| Thanks for the warning - as it happens, I realised just in time, and have switched to Let Him Have it instead!
Would still appreciate any resources on Dracula for Prose Study though - my email is:

Thanks. |

| Also beware as the Gary Oldman film is an 18 and parents may well object. |

| However the usual age restrictions don't apply when teachers are using films in an educational setting. If you want to play safe when using an 18 or 15 film you can write a letter home to parents/carers with a consent slip at the bottom for students to return to you. |
