Hi - am thinking of starting a Book club/ Reading Group with our year 12/13s and poss 11s - I just wondered whether anyone else had done this and whether you have any recommendations. Any ideas gratefully received. Thank you. |

My tip would be to go for something with a strong narrative, fairly accessible to your age-group but at the same time a bit more 'adult' than the kind of thing set on the curriculum and recently published. Avoid 'classics'. Avoid anything too literary or 'modern' in its style (for that reason I'd avoid The Book Thief). Try the various prize shortlists. Something with a twist like Atonement or Life of Pi... |
