A magic bullet to fix my pain!

A magic smile to cure my fears,
Cure my tears and stop my pain
And a magic mushroom to fix my brain.

Magic biscuits to fix my fat
Magic moisture to keep me young
And a magic way with a foreign tongue...

Met an old friend

Had a few drinks

As a contrast to the preceding verses, I think something really down to earth:

Another association of magic came to mind - magic carpet. How about

Magic carpet to fly away
A magic Santa and a magic sleigh?

A bit past it now?  Well, it may come in next year!

However, I think it needs a conclusion of some kind and I'm not happy about continuing in the same way.  I want to put a twist in the tail if I can.

Yes - plenty to go on here.

I was looking for a way to link these thoughts and phrases. The equivalent of the hook for a journalist's story.  Finally the idea of the way advertisers seem to have magic solutions to all your problems came to me.

I want a magic day
Have one free
The adverts say

No money now
Pay next year

Magic moments
No more tears

I want a magic magic day...

Or something like that.

Whether more of this will get done over Christmas is anyone's guess. But you never know. In the meantime, whatever you do at this time of year, enjoy it!

Writing is sporadic at the moment as anyone following regularly will have noticed.  However, Magic is in the air.   The magic associations lend themselves to some lines, such as

a magic bullet to fix my pain
A magic cure for my migraine

- not that I have one, I'm glad to say.  Or

A magic lantern to find my way
A magic mushroom to...

... cheer me up?   make my day?   take me away?

Magic carpet to fly away.

Too many aways and ways.

Set the task of writing to the theme of magic, I think a roam through associations of the word would be fun. Magic moments, magic button, magic finger, magic bullet...   Magic marker - what happened to those?  There's a song about a magic touch, I think.  Magic mushrooms!  Magicians have a magic circle and then there were magic lanterns long ago before slide projectors and films and... then... there was Powerpoint! 

So plenty of nice images to play with.
