When we think of the struggle for rights, we often think of Martin Luther King and the struggle for Civil Rights in the USA. However, from the beginnings of British involvement in the slave trade through to the twentieth-century, black Britons have been key figures in the push for rights and the struggle against racism. This timeline resource offers a summary of some key events in this journey, from ancient times to the modern day.

It includes student tasks to colour code each event and conduct further research into the Bristol Bus Boycott.
