Transactional writing exam practice
This supportive resource is designed to develop GCSE students' confidence and exam skills in preparation for the Edexcel GCSE English Language Paper 2 question, focusing on transactional writing.
There are five exam-style questions, covering a range of non-fiction transactional forms including magazine articles and letter writing to enhance students' confidence in constructing a variety of text types and developing their main points.
The resource helps students to present a detailed point of view in their non-fiction writing while also using key techniques, such as emotive language or rhetorical questions in their piece of writing.
There is a model answer for students to discuss, as well as a coherent paragraph plan for each question which students can use to develop their writing skills. This also helps students to understand how to plan and structure an exam response.
In particular, the resource enables students feel more secure in their understanding about how to organise and write well-constructed and effective transactional texts.
