'Silent discussion' revision
Working in silence, students share the annotation of a selection of texts to compile a set of group revision notes.
Students collaborate by making as many notes as they can on their given text then pass this on, to continue making notes on the next text, and so on. The activity is designed for small chunks of text – poems from an anthology, small extracts from a prose text or short non-fiction extracts would work well.
This activity would suit groups who like to work in teams, but need more focus and a specific personal responsibility than group discussion tasks allow.
