The sentence starts could be used as a writing frame for the writing task which follows and asks students to write a formal letter of complaint.

Is it really appropriate to write such things as "... you'll wish you had never been born" in a formal letter of complaint? To me it sound quite juvenile. Personally, I would have little respect for someone who threatened me.

I have used this resource to teach level 1 groups in my English class. It was well received and have spurred fantastic discussion among my adult learners.
