Matching transformations

A mixed transformations card sort activity from Teachit. Seven cards are given in set A, each showing a transformation on a grid. Set B has 13 cards, each of which fully describes either a reflection, a rotation or a translation.

Students should be given, or cut out, all the cards and match up each of the seven diagrams with one or more of the description cards. All 13 can be matched by describing some of the diagrams in more than one way.

This activity would be suitable for KS3 or for foundation GCSE at KS4.
