Explore experimental probability with this maths investigation, suitable for KS3 or KS4 recap.

Students make a game board for a fairground-style game where coins are flipped onto the board and points scored for landing on an even number. The relative frequency of winning is calculated by running trials, recording results in a tally chart and presenting them in a chart or graph.

Students are then asked to evaluate the experiment, considering how the trials were kept fair and what the results tell them about the game. There is also an extension task. The Word document is a self-contained worksheet, with a supporting PowerPoint presentation to get students started.
