The Hailstone sequence

A lovely number sequence investigation for KS3. The Hailstone sequence starts with a positive integer and students must follow the rule until they see a repeating pattern. They then investigate with different starting numbers.

The resource contains an introduction to the sequence, an activity sheet, teaching notes and a poster showing how different starting numbers converge.
