Chronology
This is a very detailed sequencing exercise showing the chronology of events leading up to the outbreak of the First World War. Students will examine the long-term causes and be able to identify trigger factors. They will also be able to describe and categorise key reasons, like 'militarism', for example. Teaching notes provide further suggestions for examination of the causes of the war. A great resource to challenge higher attaining KS3 students and revise with GCSE students. The activity is presented in chronological order in order to help with teacher feedback.
