Earthquakes and volcanoes

This resource focuses on geographical terminology used within the study of earthquakes and volcanoes. Students are provided with 24 key words and must use these to complete a number of tasks. These tasks include: writing definitions, categorising terms, a word search and diagram labelling. This resource could be used as a starter, lesson or plenary.

An extension task on the Richter and the Mercalli scale is included to develop knowledge. Teaching notes include answers to both the word search and cross section.
