Make your own pH scale
An activity for students to complete a pH scale to keep as a reference. They are asked to colour in the scale with appropriate colours and to label the areas of strong/weak acids and alkalis as well as neutral.
There is a table of everyday substances that can be added to the correct place on the pH scale. The activity could be differentiated by removing some of the arrows and substances from the table. For stretch and challenge remove the arrows and table completely and ask students to find a range of their own examples to add to the scale.
