A dynamic PowerPoint version of the TV team game where participants guess words or expressions to fit the categories. The Word document contains the teaching notes and answers.

An extract from the teaching notes:

Divide the class into two ‘families’.  A volunteer comes up from each family and is asked the first question from the first slide.  The first person to put up their hand gets to name an activity/word in response.  If it is one of the five answers hidden, the volunteer and their family get the chance to name the other four.  If they pick one which isn't there, play passes over to the other family.  The winning family is the one which reveals the final answer.

List of questions and hidden answers

We asked 100 people, ‘What do you do in the morning?’  What do you think they said?

  • I get up.
  • I have breakfast.
  • I brush my teeth.
  • I get dressed.
  • I brush my hair.

Sorry about this, Manu. The PDF includes the questions and the lists of prompts that students can choose from, but not the game itself. The reason is that the game is an interactive PowerPoint, with coloured boxes which disappear to reveal the 'correct' answer, and so we haven't provided a PDF version of the PowerPoint because all that would be visible is the coloured boxes. You could play the game using the PDF version by: 1. putting a tick next to your chosen answer for each question, 2. projecting the page on a data projector or OHP, 3. covering everything except the first question with a blank sheet of paper, 4. asking students to guess an answer, 5. revealing your chosen answer by moving the blank sheet down the page and 6. doing the same for the other questions.
