French Christmas sudoku
The rules of sudoku are easy and probably well known to your students. This version of the puzzle uses French Christmas vocabulary, which students match to the pictures.
The students need to place each word in an empty cell. Each row, column and 3x3 box must contain only one use of each word. To differentiate this activity, students needing more support could colour-code each word. To increase the challenge, set a time limit.
This activity would make a nice starter or plenary at the end of the winter term or as a follow-up to a cultural lesson about festive traditions in France.
