Twenty varied ideas to help students to engage with non-fiction texts in meaningful ways. The ideas include introductory tasks, comparative tasks and revision of language techniques in unseen texts. There are also tasks on presentational devices.

This resource is great for inspiration when you're looking to mix up your teaching approaches! Students can tweet to summarise a news story, practise style differences between tabloids and broadsheets, compare text types, select fact from opinion, create and analyse bias, identify persuasive techniques in property advertisements and put your junk mail to good use in the classroom.
