Investigating the slope as a simple machine

A practical activity for the KS3 work unit in which students compare the force needed to lift a mass a certain height using a slope with the force needed to lift it vertically. 

Practical instructions are included to guide students through the activity. Students take measurements of force needed to lift the mass and the distance it has been lifted then calculate the work done.
