Coastal management and conflict in Sidmouth
A resource looking at coastal management strategies and the possible conflicts that can arise from their use. The Sidmouth coastline is used as the setting for this case study.
Students consider the key features of the Sidmouth coastline, why is suffers from coastal erosion and the management already in use. The resource involves a group conflict activity where students take on different roles and consider the wishes and concerns of this group. They then decide which coastal management options this person would want to be put in place and identify the conflicts which arise with other groups. A homework summary task is also include to consolidate learning.
