An Introduction to Function Notation
This KS3/KS4 resource can be used to introduce and practise concepts regarding function notation. It consists of the following 3 activities:
1. Matching Function Machine to Notation to Value. This is a cut-out and match-up worksheet, where students match each function machine to the correct function notation, then to the correct evaluation of f(10)
2. Writing Function Machines with Function Notation. This is a PowerPoint of questions, with answers, for students to work through as a consolidation exercise.
3. Evaluating Functions. This is a basic write-on worksheet for students who will need examples and a more supported approach in their independent working.
