A starter activity to use when teaching states of matter at KS3 as part of the AQA Matter big idea.
Students are given a table of melting and boiling points of some common substances. There are ten questions in which students work out the state of the different substances at different temperatures.
This activity can be challenging and some students may benefit from a number line to help them find the answers.
