Students need to have read the first few chapters of the novel, but the lesson would also work well after reading the whole novel. Finishes with a task asking students to design a campaign poster, advertising Ralph, Jack or Piggy as the leader.

I used this resource for a mixed ability Year 10 class. It was actually a lesson I was observed in and it went really well. The class were engaged, it ticked all the boxes and fitted perfectly into a 50 minute lesson.
