Students are given the first and last paragraphs from pieces of non-fiction writing. The tasks take the form of articles, speeches, letters, advice and discussions.

You could use this resource in a number of ways: students could either write the missing middle section or write a brief plan for the missing paragraphs. Alternatively, let students choose just one piece to tackle: there are ten to choose from. These paragraphs could also be used for modelling non-fiction writing.

Suitable for KS3 or as preparation for the GCSE writing tasks.

I tutor and teach for AQA English language and am always looking out for exemplar answers to writing questions. This is very useful thank you.
