Into the Wild

Designed as exam preparation for students studying Into the Wild for AQA A2 English Language and Literature, this re-creative task focuses on Chapter 4 of the text and asks students to recast the section from the perspective of the police officer.

An extract from the resource:

Recast the base text into an account that the officer may give to a colleague back at the police station later that day.

In your transformation you should consider:

  • The police officer’s perspective of the meeting, his view of Chris and his attitude towards hitchhikers.
  • The police officer’s regard for his job and his relationship with his colleague as indicated by the way that he conveys his recent experience.
