This resource is designed to encourage students to rewrite a short 19th-century extract, changing the mood and atmosphere. The resource includes some initial comprehension and analysis activities. The extract is taken from Chapter 16 of Oscar Wilde's novel The Picture of Dorian Gray.

I will use this as an introduction to 19th Century literature for KS4 pupils, using the table to find the words which create the dark imagery and explain them, A separate resource as well for creative writing! Thank you very much.
