What is chronology?
This resource was created as an introductory, transition lesson for visiting year 6 students or for new year 7 students to enable them to understand chronology and chronological order, use timelines and define anachronisms.
It consists of a PowerPoint (including answers where required), a dates activity for the whole class or small groups, and a worksheet to support students in recording their answers.
Tasks include putting everyday time expressions in chronological order, a chaser game that involves addition and subtraction with years and dates, adding events to a timeline from 1500 BC to the present day, and drawing an example of an anachronism.
