Last updated: 15/11/2023
Contributor: Karen Mizen
In this task, children are invited to match a variety of sentences to the correct figurative language term. Terms featured include repetition, alliteration, metaphor, simile, personification and onomatopoeia. Children are then asked to write their own sentences to describe household items using these language devices.
This downloadable worksheet is suitable for years 5 and 6 and includes answers.
