Knock, knock
This resource tackles punctuating direct speech through writing knock, knock jokes.
The exercise asks children to engage in conversation in pairs by telling knock, knock jokes. An example is outlined, step-by-step, to demonstrate how to use speech marks to write direct speech before challenging children to have a go themselves with their own jokes.
A useful resource for writing direct speech and dialogue.
