This resource takes students through a model answer to an interpretation question on Hereward the Wake's rebellion in 1070. Students read and label the model answer, using a provided set of codes. A generic markscheme for the question stem is provided in the teaching notes, which could be used alongside the model answer. Students then apply this learning to a second interpretation question on William the Conqueror's consolidation of power.

This resource was planned with AQA, around the specimen AQA GCSE History, Paper 2 Section B: Norman England c1066-c1100.
