Significance

A scripted role-play in which Lord Shaftesbury, Robert Owen and Richard Oastler are interviewed to reveal their motivations and reforming ideas. While some students perform the role-play the rest of the class can complete a data capture worksheet. This leads on to a discussion of significance and how to remember the reformers. The teaching notes include full instructions and ideas about Christine Counsel's 'five 'R's to help inform the class discussions.
