William's problems: SWOT analysis
This resource asks students to sort a range of statements about the position of William the Conqueror and the Normans following the initial Norman Conquest. Students sort statements in a 'SWOT analysis' (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Teaching notes accompanying the resource then suggest that students could timeline the cards, and identify a range of analytical points such as William's personal leadership.
This resource was planned for AQA's GCSE History: Paper 2, Section B: Norman England c1066-c1100.
