Authors

Students explore a number of extracts taken from The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by considering how they each present a setting.

The extracts range across the whole text, and students are first required to explore their context, key information about the setting, the mood and atmosphere and the language used to present each setting. This activity could be completed in groups for presentation to the whole class, or as a more substantial project following a reading of the text.

Finally, students are given an exam-style extract-based essay question, which is supported with annotations on the accompanying PowerPoint presentation.
