Having access to quality resources, that are easy to search, in a uniform format, is a real benefit for teaching staff. My Spanish teacher left a lasting impression when he said, "Don't work hard, work smart". He didn't mean be lazy, he meant, don't duplicate other people's work for no reason. Sometimes, especially in languages, repetition is necessary for information to be stored in our long term memory. But I don't think that should extend to lesson planning...

Once upon a time, I worked in a mainstream school as a TA/Cover Supervisor. I was really fortunate to be in a pupil-centred environment where I was trusted to deliver MFL to the EAL students, supporting the development of their exam technique with their expertise in their native language. I love Languages because most students start from the same place when they arrive at Secondary, not being able to read or even understand most of what they meet in the lesson. Now I work mostly in SEND.
