SPaG mat
A learning mat for students to refer to, reminding them of key areas of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Designed to go on desks, you could photocopy and laminate this resource as a SPaG aid for all students.
Aspects of punctuation, grammar and spelling which are included:
- speech marks
- apostrophes
- word classes
- paragraphs
- commas
- sentence types
- variety of sentences
- homophones and commonly confused words.
This resource would be useful alongside any extended writing activity, in any subject area where students are writing at length.

Using the document provided as an example, small groups form 3-4 sentences that are correct and incorrect, then trade papers, correct errors and share out with the class.
