Des proverbes français
Read the traditional French proverbs and match each one to an explanation of what they really mean. This reading activity will really get students thinking!
It's a great way to introduce them to authentic, idiomatic French in an accessible way, as preparation for tackling literary texts. They can also note some English equivalents for some of the proverbs.
Why not try using this resource to mark the European Day of Languages, on 26 September?
