Heads and tails
This speaking game on the food topic works in any language and comes with a blank template that can be adapted to different topics. It's based on the toss of a coin as well as the language skills of the player. Working in pairs or small groups, students take turns to toss a coin to pick an odd or even numbered picture in their grid. To win that square, they must give an opinion of the food pictured, ticking off that square in a grid in their books. You could adapt this to practising different tenses too. The winner is the first to have spoken about all nine images.

Thank you for this very useful free resource. The accurate photographic representations are so much better than the usual cartoon-style examples! I will be using this with my Years 4 and 5.
