This resource offers twenty ideas to support home learning during school closures. It provides options for a variety of learning tasks, worksheet resources and weblinks to aid with setting home learning activities. These range from virtual field trips to amazing locations to making stop-motion movies, cakes or models of physical landforms. The choice is yours - make home learning captivating!

Sample ideas:

Be creative. Ask students to make or bake a geographical concept, feature or landform. It could be a waterfall, a weather depression, or the concentric ring model – let the imagination run loose on the topics they are studying. You could adapt this simple template to help.

Geography institutions. The subject societies have guidance on teaching from home, how to teach subject guides and many teaching resources. The Geographical Association and The Royal Geographical Society have both made many of their resource free to use.

Global learning. Encounter Edu offers a whole range of teaching resources, live lessons and multimedia activities. There is also guidance on how to make use of their resources during school closure periods.
