A resource that helps students to understand the importance of language and tone in formal writing. Students are given an example of a lettter from a headteacher to parents and they should highlight words or phrases that are inappropriate in tone. They are then tasked with rewriting a paragraph in the correct tone.

I placed one each students desk and first asked them to review their own work . I then used the same annotations using a different colour in my marking.
