Vocabulary for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

This set of resources by The Bell Foundation supports learners using EAL to understand and use a variety of terms for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Activities include matching mathematical symbols with words, saying number sentences aloud, and becoming familiar with a wider range of terms associated with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

The resources are designed to be used with learners at key stage 2 or above who are new to English or at the early acquisition stage. They can be used with groups or for individual support. Teaching notes provide ideas for a number of activities using the resources.
