Practise family vocabulary with a cultural twist! Students must first look closely at the family tree for the current Spanish monarch, King Felipe VI. Reading the sentences which describe the royal family will help them to pick out the key vocabulary.

Students must then imagine they are explaining the British royal family to a Spanish friend, using the family tree provided and the Spanish translations of names. Starting with a true or false exercise, students complete a set of sentences to explain who is who and how the royals are related to each other. Answers are provided.

Really good resource. I used it first as an introduction to some extended vocabulary . (They already knew hermano/a, padre, madre). I made the first page into a Powerpoint to introduce new family relationships and we did question and answer and Verdad/Mentira orally. Page 1 Task A was given as a homework task. Page 2 led to discussion about corresponding Spanish and English names (and to who is who in the British Royal Family). Task B was done together, Task C as homework.
I would be happy to share the Powerpoint.
