Creative writing: setting and atmosphere
Students look closely at the effective use of the senses, vocabulary, personification, contrast and sentence structure in two twentieth-century extracts, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, and write their own creative piece. Designed for GCSE English Language for first teaching in September 2015.
