An engaging creative writing resource that enables students to explore their imaginative capabilities with metaphors and figurative language.

This helpful resource supports KS3 or KS4 students in their experimentation with language to prepare for the rigours of GCSE creative, original, descriptive or narrative writing.

The PowerPoint resource includes a range of creative activities to stretch and challenge students when planning and preparing for original writing.

With a comparison to William Blake and his use of text and image, students are encouraged to create both written and visual artifacts to broaden their understanding of his creativity.

There is the opportunity to self assess or peer assess work at the end of the process.

Students are also encouraged to research the works of William Blake as an extension of this lesson activity.
