Exploring 'Dracula' as an unseen fiction text
This resource takes an extract from 'Dracula' to support students in approaching 19th century prose. Activities specifically target analysing the language and structure of the extract, to prepare them for the 2015 English Language GCSE.

This PPT can be used to prepare students for AQA Paper 1A: addressing Q3 - "How has the writer structured the text to interest you as a reader?"
It's a good resource I'll be adding to my ever-expanding bank of resources (though my understanding is that 19th C fiction extracts won't be used in the exam for this exam paper; they will all be chosen from 20th and 21st century.) Nevertheless, an engaging text to practise the skills. I've done the same with excerpts from classic 19th C fiction.
