Drama and Theatre Studies EditorAmy Newsham is KS3 coordinator in English at Cardinal Allen Catholic High School in Fleetwood. Amy has been teaching English and Drama for three years and has loved every minute of it! She is also a member of Nate's Drama and Creativity committee.  Here are her key Drama resources for the new term:

If you’re looking for some fun drama games to get students warmed up then Hot seating question cards is a brilliant resource. Through interactive and structured role play, this resource allows students to explore different characters' perspectives through asking interesting questions.

Sneaky Shakespeare very cleverly omits the fact that students are studying Shakespeare and it focuses on the plays' stories. From this, you're guaranteed to get no grumblings of 'But I don't get Shakespeare!' and instead you will have a class of engaged and willing playwrights and actors.

If you're ever stuck for ideas, then 33 things to do with a playscript is a good starting point. This resource has many creative and innovative ideas you can adapt for your classroom — I particularly like numbers 11, 16 and 19!.
