Creative writing: setting and atmosphere
Students look closely at the effective use of the senses, vocabulary, personification, contrast and sentence structure in two twentieth-century extracts, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, and write their own creative piece.
